Both the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day take place on September 30th. The day honours the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. Orange Shirt Day is an Indigenous-led grassroots commemorative day intended to raise awareness of the individual, family and community inter-generational impacts of residential schools.

This year, the Home & School Association is excited to partner with Iron Horse Wear House, an indigenous business located in Kahnawake, to facilitate the purchase of an orange shirt for Orange Shirt Day for you and your child!

Visit our Store to place your order. Your order must be submitted by September 2 at 8:00 PM so your purchase can be delivered to your child prior to Orange Shirt Day. Edinburgh School has invited its community to show their commitment and support by wearing an orange shirt in lieu of the usual dress code on September 30.

Help shape a fun and enriching school year at Edinburgh! Our AGM is a great chance to connect with the Home & School committee, hear about our plans, and learn how you can get involved.

We’re especially looking for a Treasurer, Secretary, and Communications Coordinator to join next year’s Executive Committee. It’s a great way to meet other parents and make a difference in the school community. Scroll down for full role descriptions!

Whether you want to take on a leadership role or help out occasionally, there’s something for everyone—no matter how much time you can offer.

• Record and distribute accurate, impartial minutes of all meetings

• Track motions, attendance, and follow-ups

• Send agendas, minutes, and meeting notices as per by-laws

• Maintain accessible records for the Executive

• Manage all financial transactions, banking, and record-keeping

• Prepare and present monthly and annual financial reports

• Submit annual report (signed by President & Treasurer) to QFHSA by July 1

• Draft and present annual budget for approval

• Maintain inventory of H&S purchases

• Track funds from events, manage reimbursements, and ensure proper documentation

📢 Communications Coordinator

• Be the voice of Home & School!

• Manage the Gmail account and respond to inquiries

• Send Mailchimp blasts (newsletters, reminders, etc.)

• Promote events through posters and digital outreach

• Coordinate with our website admin for timely updates

• Ensure consistent messaging across all channels

The Edinburgh Home & School Association is excited to host our annual Spring Fair!

Join us for an evening full of fun, including:

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! We’re thrilled to have some wonderful student volunteers, but we still need a few adults to help make this event a success! CALLING ALL BAKERS! We're looking for sweet treats for the bake sale table! Whether you're a seasoned baker or just love whipping up treats in the kitchen, your contributions will help us raise funds for important school initiatives.
