Both the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day take place on September 30th. The day honours the children who never returned home and Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities. Orange Shirt Day is an Indigenous-led grassroots commemorative day intended to raise awareness of the individual, family and community inter-generational impacts of residential schools.
This year, the Home & School Association is excited to partner with Iron Horse Wear House, an indigenous business located in Kahnawake, to facilitate the purchase of an orange shirt for Orange Shirt Day for you and your child!
Visit our Store to place your order. Your order must be submitted by September 6 at 8:00 PM so your purchase can be delivered to your child prior to Orange Shirt Day. Edinburgh School has invited its community to show their commitment and support by wearing an orange shirt in lieu of the usual dress code on September 30.
